Challenges to Evolution

Fossil Record

Where are the intermediate species?

Countless remains of prehistoric organisms preserved in rock only show sudden jumps between disparate species, and not gradual changes between them.

Genetic Code

Complex information storage

The functionality of proteins is based not on the chemical shape of the amino acids which comprise them, but rather on their specified arrangement into alphabetical sequences, exactly like a computer program. This was obviously designed by an intelligent creator.

Origin of Life

Where did the first life form come from?

Evolution presumes the existence of reproductive life forms, without explaining where they came from in the first place. The attempts to do so are exceedingly improbable, given the requisite chemical ingredients and environmental conditions.

Complexity arising by Chance

Monkeys can’t type Shakespeare

The development of even the simplest protein, as a result of amino acids tumbling correctly into sequence by coincidence, is astronomically improbable. There is not enough time matter nor time in the history of the universe to even remotely approach the requisite number of combination trials.

Micro-evolution, not Macro-evolution

We see small change in a species, not large changes across species

Small changes within a species, which demonstrably result in stronger breeds of a dog, or enhanced shapes of a bird’s beaks, do not necessarily aggregate into large scale structural changes that form whole new species. All attempts to replicate such trans-species mutation in the laboratory have failed. For example, after genetic changes result in a few slight feature variation, that deviant population becomes sterilized and cannot produce another generation.
